Memorable Seasons National Scrapbook Day Online Crop May 5th-10th

National Scrapbooking Day! Time to celebrate our favorite hobby along with all the other scrap-a-holics out there that share the same passion we do. Memorable Seasons want to celebrate with you too! And to do that, we are having an online crop this weekend in honor of NSD and Mothers!!!

We have decided that since this is also Mother's Day weekend, that we will make this as easy on you as we can, while still working to throw out some good challenges your way. One of the ways we plan to do this is by giving you all the challenges a day earlier than most. We will start listing the DT's challenges on Thursday afternoon, May 5th and then have all of them up for you by Thursday night at the latest. We also want to give you a few extra days to get them all done. So you will have until Tuesday, May 10th at midnight to get them all done.

So make your plans to be here this weekend for some great challenges, games and of course, PRIZES!!!

Finally some scrap time and Challenges

So, I have to complete two Challenges:
First, by tonight Jen T's Throwdown Challenge
For this weeks throwdown challenge my main ingredient is USING ALL PATTERNED PAPERS FOR THE PAGE INCLUDING MATTING. my special seasonings are going to be using a PINCH OF STITCHING AND A DASH OF SPARKLE OR BLING somewhere on your page.
I couldn't get Jen's SAMPLE layout to post right. Here is Mine:
Needs a little something more, but it is not coming to me right now. What to add?

Second, tomorrow the Happy Hour Sketch Challenge #1
not sure of the completed details, but got this to go on for now. And now a hint about this week's sketch: You will want to have two 4x6 photos ready, preferably vertical, however, you could flip the sketch to use the horizontal if you wanted. And you already should know that it needs to be "love" themed....either your paper, the photos or something you can add to the page. You are going to LOVE this sketch!!!

Both are through Memorable Seasons.
Will post what I come up with soon!

Lazy Day, Basketball and another Challenge Completed

Got to sleep in today until 9:15 am which was nice. Especially since I pulled my back yesterday when I went for an unexpected little ice-skating stunt walking down the driveway. So, the family had a lazy morning and went to see my second cousin play in her basketball game. Did a little shopping at the mall had an early dinner and came home. I got to finish another challenge too! So, happy that I completed 8 out of the 12 challenges by the 16th!
So here is the latest. The Challenge was: You must have 3 stars, 4 stripes or 4 strips of paper & your title needs to come from the word "Freedom" or you need a 7 letter title. Feel free to use as many or as little letters from the word.

Crop Cancelled for Today

So, the crop I was supposed to go today was canceled and I am disappointed. But I did get to finish up a Challenge last night.
For this challenge, I had to create some sort of grid on your page that has 12 sections. You must also use the number 12 in your title or subtitle somehow and your layout needs to be Christmas-themed.

Another Challenge Completed:
1) JUNE/Summer themed
2) Multiple photos (doesn't have to be 6, but must be more than 1)
3) MUST USE 6 papers (no more, no less) -- (cardstock & pp each count as one..)
4) NOT A REQUIREMENT but as an optional extra challenge: Use the number 6 somewhere on your layout....(I used the NUMBER 6 in my journaling.. ages of the boys)

Looking at the layout together I think I need to add the Yankees Symbols on the right page. It is too empty..

Card Challenge

Here is another Challenge I completed from the MS website. Card Challenge was to use 4 different manufacturers.
ANW/Crestwood, Inc. Printed Paper Pack (which it claimed to be, only had 5 printed sheets. But the rest was solids with maybe some shimmer, parchment, etc.)
So, I Used: ANW/Crestwood, Inc. Vellum Martini background, Cranberry Orange Cardstock & Grey Cardstock.
Inks Used: Ink It Up! Metallic Silver Pigment Ink on Grey Cardstock & CTMH Ponderosa Pine
Unknown (maybe Diamond) frill topped toothpick, sorry had a big box that ripped and put them into plastic bags.

While i was searching for some ideas. I came across this cute card.
Tea Bag Note

Doubles, No Husband and More Snow

So, I was hoping to get the chance to work on more of these Challenges from the Memorable Seasons website. But what stood in my way: 1st - Gerry worked 2 doubles in a row stayed up in Yonkers, NY on Tuesday after the first double shift at Martin's (a guy he works). 2nd - Kids were in Mommy mode. 3rd - I had visitors throughout the day. All of which is life and some was an unexpected welcome. The worst of it was waiting for Gerry, my husband to get home from work in the middle of the third snow storm this season. And to top it off and making it nerve racking. He was doing this at 1 a.m. from White Plains, NY after pulling 2 doubles and driving his front wheel drive commuting car. So, anyway at 3 a.m. he was 30 miles away and to get to that point it took 3 hours. So, about 5 a.m. he arrived home. Thankfully and I finally got some sleep!

So, just finished up what I started two days ago. Challenge #3 from MS.
3 pictures, 3 word title, 3 different manufacturers & use green.
I used Making Memories tweed pattern paper & sage green scraps, The Paper Company Corduroy Hunter & Unknown Grosgrain Ribbon Scraps (Micheal's Brand) from a spool that went missing.

Just got another Challenge posted to do from MS site:
Here is the link also placed here to remind me how to find it.
Adding another: One Word

Day 4 - Other Blogs, Pics and adding things

I am liking this blog thing. I can add things that I want to refer to and have them all in one place and recorded for a while. Plus, I don't have notes written all over the place, that I never get back to.
Today, there were a number of things I came across. Here is one from Facebook

A fabulous and new challenge for you to try! Based on the feature in the January/February 2011 issue of Paper Crafts Magazine, Cath is challenging you to create Moxie Fab projects that incorporate gray in an innovative way.
www.moxiefabworld.com

One more that I came across.
 May Arts
I like the tutourial that is on this page. http://www.mayarts.com/blog/ribbon-essentials-kit-swatch-book/  I can not see the need for a ribbon swatch book. Since I am always picking up ribbon deals and steals where ever I am.

Yesterday, I came across this blog page from a scrap friend of mine. http://ifitsgroovy.blogspot.com/2010/12/dictionary-challenge-jen-t.html?spref=bl
The love the idea of challenges and as a goal this year I want to try to complete one each month as well as one of my own layouts. I originally wanted to do one a week but since the week is coming to an end and I haven't been able to clear a space long enough to think about what to do. I modified my goal.

Then there was a challenge. That I would like to try out. http://www.memorableseasons.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=6484

Well, I just got this email from Spellbinders about their blog. They are having guest designers on the blog with their work. http://spellbinderspaperarts.com/blog/to-die-for-winter-release-rules/ So Here is the link. I still haven't got to creat anything to add to this Blog. I did start working on a design team call for a local scrapbook store I need to get that finished and sent out. Chat with you later.
