Card Lifters and Liftateers - Week #2

This week's lifts...actually I am a bit behind in posting. But here they are...

I am not thrilled with this page as far as wow factor goes! But I am so happy and proud of this page mainly because it was adding to my Christmas album! 

 BUT also because I used items I have had in my stash for a long while. Cut out and assembled some pieces and title using the Cricut. Hand stitched on three borders, used old CM Stickers (really creatively I might add), used a brad from my stash along with those cardstock printed embellishments from way back!

A Lift from a Lift!

I really enjoyed using the sketch idea that came from our May Lift Challenge over at XOXO Scrapbooking. The original was my 2 page layout posted for our DT and Challenge. Click over to the original post HERE. After seeing Joanne's take on the lift... I lifted her lift! Using it to create another page with some pics of the dogs during Christmas.

XOXO DT Page and Card for March

Over on XOXO Scrapbooking we have a lift challenge going for March using Kimmy's LO.

Here is my LO, I used different sized papers and turned them to fit my photos and alphas. I started out by using Kimmy's LO as inspiration. Large title and sized alphas and working the page into four sections.

Got to scrap pictures from 2011 and use some more things in my stash!

My card I created using Kimmy's sketch and I just happened to come across a scooter while looking for a couple I was planning to cut out using Sweetheart Cricut cartridge.

Got to used those LOVE letters that were just waiting to be put to use!

XOXO - Challenge #41 ~ The SuperBet

There was a Superbowl bet made from one team member to another (and then of course, first said member lost…) Everyone on team got to contribute an item to the loser’s list and we came up with this game plan:

Stencil
Lace
Purple
Red & gold
purple washi tape
Lobster/embossed stamping (the lobster was a joke, but some took it seriously — look!
Mist
Distressing
Stitching
Index cards

Here is what I did:

I had a hard time at first...Like what is a Lobster/embossed stamping?
Funny thing is that we have Christmas Lobsters decorations we put out...You know just like the White Lighted Deers!
Lobsters are apart of the family. My Father-In-Law is a fisherman and during the Summer my husband will go out an help him. Of course, with the added bonus of fresh lobsters!

Santa Lists, Sears WishBook and the Season

Since my kids are slowly moving away from TV Shows that are on Disney, Nick Jr. and Treehouse (Canadian version of Sprout). They have been seeing all those TV ads from this toy or that toy. So I have been hearing, "I want that" or "That's so cool! Can you get me that!" I hear myself saying, "You should ask Santa." more often.
This year was the 1st year I noticed that Sears still has a WishBook still. It has been at least 15 years since I seen one.

My has their wishlist grown for my two. I took some of them looking at the Sears Wishbook too!

So, as a cute and fun Santa List I took a picture using the opposite side of one of those over the door coloring rolls.

BUT you will have to wait to see them on a page in the future!

Christmas Serendipity Squares - 1st Christmas

My "1st Christmas - Tristan & Gerry 1972" Layout is up over at If It's Groovy. Head over and check it what we have been up too!

I have been holding on to the original photos of my husband's childhood for awhile and finally got the chance to get them scanned and printed. These photos were from his 1st Christmas.

Since the stuffed puppy and the boys pants were plaid in the photo, it reminded me of a patchwork quilt which gave way to the Serendipity Squares. I use a mix of Christmas Papers I had that could be cut into 1" Squares. In a somewhat random matter I placed them around the photos as the mat/background. Added some chipboard embellishments and some mini alphas for the boy's names and date.

I wanted to post some of my past layouts I did. Since I have been working on my PHD Binder(Pages Half Done) and getting through a pile of finished pages. All of which needed to be organized into their correct albums. Here are a few of my favorite or better pages.

Crop Cancelled for Today

So, the crop I was supposed to go today was canceled and I am disappointed. But I did get to finish up a Challenge last night.
For this challenge, I had to create some sort of grid on your page that has 12 sections. You must also use the number 12 in your title or subtitle somehow and your layout needs to be Christmas-themed.

Another Challenge Completed:
1) JUNE/Summer themed
2) Multiple photos (doesn't have to be 6, but must be more than 1)
3) MUST USE 6 papers (no more, no less) -- (cardstock & pp each count as one..)
4) NOT A REQUIREMENT but as an optional extra challenge: Use the number 6 somewhere on your layout....(I used the NUMBER 6 in my journaling.. ages of the boys)

Looking at the layout together I think I need to add the Yankees Symbols on the right page. It is too empty..
