My challenge to you is a Technique challenge with the BD Theme of course! So, I dare you to create a BD/Anniversaty layout with the following requisites:

- Incorporate a handcuted portion(s) of pattern paper
- Use pop dots to add depth to you handcut image(s)
- Use at least 2 different alpha stickers! This is a great time to use those leftovers...
- Remember those stickles or glitter? You need to use them to add some blign to your master piece

Challenge - Sketch

Sketches always help me when I'm in a rut, so I just knew that I had to host a sketch challenge! They're so much fun and you can really get inspiration from any aspect of them!
The little twist with this challenge is to use the sketch and include some sort of celebration theme (since we are celebrating a birthday, afterall)!

Two more challenges done!

It is so nice to get a good nights sleep and be able to get up before the kids!

I was able to finish two more Challenges from Paper Secrets - Birthday Bash!

One was a Birthday Card using all or some of the colors in their logo:

Here is my card:

The next Challenge was called "Remember When....."
Use your imagination. Twins, 2 Friends, Age 2, Age 11, Age 20, 2 weeks, 2 days... get the idea??!!
The challenge... make the journalling reflect the number 2. It could be a simple journal of the age or number of friends or it could be more 'imagined'... sound challenging??

Here what I did:

My Shabby/Chic Card Challenge

Challenge is Shabby Chic Recipe style of challenge. For those who are unsure what Shabby Chic is I have put the definition here as well.

Shabby chic is a form of interior design where furniture and furnishings are either chosen for their age and signs of wear and tear or new items are distressed to achieve the appearance of an antique. At the same time, a soft, minimalistic, and feminine feel is emphasized to differentiate it from regular vintage decor; hence the "chic" in the name.

If you decide to do the layout the following must be used on your page...

  • A vintage photo pre 50's must be used.
  • Paint
  • Stitching
  • Distressing
  • Pastel Tones
CARD must include the following...
  • Paint
  • Stitching
  • Soft prints
  • Ribbon
That was the requirements. Since this was my first attempt at a "Shabby Chic" card. Looking back I think I should have roughed up the heart a bit!

I am doing these challenges through Paper Secrets

Most Recent Challenge "Recycle"

The Challenge was to:
Use a found object that is not meant for scrapping or crafts on a layout (any size). Don't just use thread from sewing- use wire from a broken telephone cord.

Look in your bathroom, your kitchen, your garage, your yard!
Think: duct tape, plastic mesh from around food, hair accessory, aluminum foil, sand.

Show us how creative and resourceful you can be!
Make sure to use a non-traditionally scrapbook item you FOUND.

I had these pictures in a stack for a while and the black mesh stashed from thing. Adding the crab brads just worked! I also "recycled" the alphas, since they were given to me from a scrappy friend who was going to toss them!

Masking using my Glue Glider refill!

I have been wanting this stamp from Close To My Heart for a while.

So, When my son had grabbed a Glue Glider Refill  I finished using and ended up dropping it. I got to see the insides! I had a challenge that was in my to do list using masking on your Layout. The light bulb lit up!

I only masked twice. So, it was going to be trail and error. Plus, I only currently own two mists. Yeah, I wrote currently own! Anyway, my first attempt was using my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Chalkboard in Hot Chocolate. Here is what I got:

I wasn't sure what pictures I was using yet and was thinking about something with my son. It was OK, but I wanted more definition. So, my next attempt was using Maya Mist - Antique Bronze metallic and I changed a few of the pieces from my Glue Glider too! Here is the results:

I also have a bunch of Alpha Stickers my Scrappy Friend gave me. So, I stuck them on a piece of plastic wrapping I had and misted them too! I found the papers wanted to use from my Memorable Seasons kit. Here is my final project:
