Here is my May Supply Challenge for Paper Secrets

The Supply: rubons, rubons, rubons & more rubons! I've got them everywhere & never use them! You too?

The challenge is to create any project you'd like using 3 or more rubons.

Here is what I did:

Used a stitching rub-on on Page 1

Used the word Happy on Becky's picture on Page 2

Used the star borders on Page 2

This was my first time attending and cropping at the Scrapbook Expo. I had fun and got some scrapping done. Of course, I ran into some roadblocks. Like to finish one page I was short a lowercase "d" alpha letter, so that didn't get finished completely. Forgot my threads, floss and fibers stash and had to go shopping at the Expo store instead of getting to work. Brought the Pages Half Done(PHD) but forgot the paper pack. But that's what happens when you pack the day before!


So here is some thing I completed !

Who is up for a Original or Counterfeit Challenge?

I have a fun challenge for everyone!
I started out wanting to do this challenge using the Close To My Heart - Wings Workshop on the Go(WOTG) or Kits on any Level. But what about a counterfeit version? Read on....

But I started thinking that there maybe some followers out there that might want to Counterfeit the kit or papers and elements. What I mean by "counterfeit" is pretty much the actual definition.

Thanks to Wikipedia, A counterfeit is an imitation, usually one that is made with the intent of fraudulently passing it off as genuine. Counterfeit products are often produced with the intent to take advantage of the superior value of the imitated product. The word counterfeit frequently describes both the forgeries of currency and documents, as well as the imitations of works of art, clothing, software, pharmaceuticals, watches, electronics and company logos and brands.

So if you have the Close To My Heart - Wings, on any level! Let's see what everyone can come up with and share. Counterfeit FYI: The Wings WOTG first introduced the spray pen, before it was offered in the new catalog. What the spray pen does is allow you to create your own matching mists/glitter mists using the matching Close To My Heart Re-inkers. So, pull out your supplies and Let's play! I got the chance to play with the spray pen, but not on my Wings papers yet!

How is it going to work:
Since I know a few people who has the same Wings WOTG kit. I am giving them this challenge. I will be showcasing them on my blog showing you what you can do with this kit.

I also want to offer the same showcase for anyone that does this challenge. I will post your work if you want on my blog and can set up a link that will go to your blog too, if you have one!

I am working on my Wing - Workshop on the Go kit, this weekend. I am not putting a time limit on this, because I know my creative moments come and go! Plus, this month and next is going to be crazy for me!

SCRAP YOUR A** OFF!  

How it works:

*You had to sign up before May 12th to play. 
*Challenges are posted every Friday. The 1st challenge(Friday, May 13th) You have 7 days to upload your layout.  
*Any participants who do not upload before the deadline will be eliminated. Those who do move on. 
*All the challenges will be based on a sketch & use of basic supplies.
*The series of challenges will go until there is only 1 participant left, making them the winner who will get their choice of scrap supplies valued at $75.
*Our Design Team will be playing along but will not be eligible to win.


So I just completed my first Challenge. Here is what we were asked to do:

Handmade Butterflies - for a Museum Collection

I just found out about this from a forum I am on. Sounds like a great creative challenge and a sight I would want to see when they reach the goal of 1.5 million! Holocaust Museum Butterfly Project
In an effort to remember them, Holocaust Museum Houston is collecting 1.5 million handmade butterflies. The butterflies will eventually comprise a breath-taking exhibition, currently scheduled for Spring 2013, for all to remember. The Museum has already collected an estimated 600,000 butterflies. Please facilitate the “I Never Saw Another Butterfly” activity and create as many handmade arts-and-crafts butterflies as possible. This project may be completed by all ages as individuals or groups. •Butterflies should be no larger than 8 inches by 10 inches. •Butterflies may be of any medium the artist chooses, but two-dimensional submissions are preferred. •Glitter and all glitter-related products should not be used. •Food products (cereal, macaroni, candy, marshmallows or other perishables) also should not be used. •If possible, e-mail a photograph of your butterflies, to butterflyproject@hmh.org Please send or bring your butterflies to the Museum by June 30, 2012, with the following information included: •Your name, •Your organization or school, •Your address, •Your e-mail address, and •The total number of butterflies sent. A Game of Catch

Here is a LO that I have had the pictures for awhile. The last few days and nights have been so nice here…It got me remembering cool Summer breezes. I love when that breeze is just right: feeling the sun on you but not the true heat of it, working outside or sleeping cozy under the light blankets. Since this time of year also brings the baseball season and the players as well as the fans are gearing up! I thought this layout was fitting. These pictures were from a Summer that my niece and nephew were living here. The Brothers (my husband and brother-in-law) were starting their own Baseball Camp in the backyard. With mitts ready and tennis balls on hand they started out on the basics of catching…….

On a Personal Note: This past Summer we got to spend most of the Summer with them and family. I miss them especially since according to MapQuest they are 36 hours 42 mins / 1768.91 driving miles away. So, I can’t wait to see them again this Summer…

So, what I did to make this layout. I used light blue cardstock for the background papers and green polka dot pattern paper was scraps I had. I inked up the edges of cardstock and pattern paper using Close To My Heart Twilight ink. For the matting, title, subtitles and arrows used Bazzill basics in Great Lakes. The arrows were from the Close To My Heart Star Struck stamp set. I stamped on the back of the Great Lakes cardstock and then fussy cut the arrows. For my title I used the Cricut Cartridge Alphalicious – Short Stack Shadow option. The subtitles: nice catch, catcher and pitcher came from the Cricut Cartridge Baseball Solutions.

Memorable Seasons National Scrapbook Day Online Crop May 5th-10th

National Scrapbooking Day! Time to celebrate our favorite hobby along with all the other scrap-a-holics out there that share the same passion we do. Memorable Seasons want to celebrate with you too! And to do that, we are having an online crop this weekend in honor of NSD and Mothers!!!

We have decided that since this is also Mother's Day weekend, that we will make this as easy on you as we can, while still working to throw out some good challenges your way.
