Teacher Gifts

The year of year gift I found on pinterest.....Here is what my kiddos gave their teacher's!

I found this cute gift idea for teacher's gift and it came with a tag you can download!

Here is the link to my pin. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/247838785720920850/

Here is the original blog post: i-have-to-ad-mitt-youre-sweet-teacher

For the kiddos swimming instructor I created this little postcard style/gift card holder.

Emma would play a game with the kids at the end of lessons. Asked them if the liked certain foods. Changing it up once in a while and letting them call out the food before they jumped in the pool.

So, the kiddos like the idea of asking Emma "Do you like Tim's?"

Off the enjoy the summer!

2nd Layout from February's XOXO Scrapbooking Lift!

Little Nan is what my husband called her once he saw her dressed in the knitted sweater and cap! "Little Nan" was the nickname for his Grandmother. I when to get photos done for my daughter in her Halloween costume and the photographer asked if she could get some shots with her in the sweater & cap.

Using Webster's Pages I fussy cut some of the flowers to frame the photos.

Added some embellishments and edge distress the papers.

Here is the full layout.

Here is Kimmy's layout:

1st Layout Completed for February's XOXO DT Challenge!

This month I got to use our lift twice!

Here is the 1st one I did using a Halloween Pic of my kids. I started off using the sketch of Kimmy's layout, but then it turned into something of my own creation!
A button cluster in the top corner using a spider I had cutout previously but didn't use on another layout!

I had used these two cool Halloween themed punches at a scrapbooking retreat. So, I made an extra strip just in case! Got the chance to put it to use!

A pre-printed journal box, jack-o-lantern and a cat I had cut out, but never used, until now!

As you can see it turned out as it's own creation...I started out using the sketch elements from Kimmy's layout! Then it became it's own!

Here's Kimmy's layout we had to go on!

Hope you got the chance to play along with us over at XOXO Scrapbooking!

Pool Party Invites

My daughter's birthday is coming up and she wants a swimming party.  So, I created her invites!

I used Close To My Heart Stamp Set called Makin' Waves. Stamped the image and colored in the mask, his feet and beak. Then after it dried added Liquid Applique to the duck's body.

I also used some light blue pearl Stickles on the bubbles and Liquid Glass for the inside of the mask. Here is a better shot to so it!

I started out using a stamp and then hand-writing the invite info. But, since there was not enough room to fit all the info. I created my own version using MicroSoft Word. This one is one I will use on her scrapbook page(s) for her party.

I used a Fiskars Inter-changeable Border Punch, which I don't know the name of! Stamped the Splish Splash sentiment for the CTMH - Makin' Waves set.

I didn't make as fancy invites for her class. I did add the Stickles! Since, they would only hang a the fridge and then be thrown away! Here's a shot of those created!

Logging....January's XOXO Scrapbooking DT Page

There's only two days left to get your page posted to have a chance to be next our next Guest Design Team Member!

This month's page Wendy gave us offers a great clean and simple layout that if you click on over to the blog...HERE. You can see how easy it can be changed up! There are some great takes on her original page!

Here is mine using three photos I had. My son has had a love of trucks since a baby. He got to experience having his Uncle and Poppy working on a logging truck in the yard one day.

I created my own woodgrain chipboard alphas using K&Company's freshpaint die-cut chipboard, Close To My Heart Weathered Backgrounds (wood grain) Stamp and Close To My Heart Cocoa Ink.

Using some scrap dark green and Martha Stewart's edge punch called Pine Forest created the bottom border. I had some wood grain embossed scraps from another project. After rounding the corners of each piece, edge distressing and inking with Cocoa I had some logs!
I found a image that looks a bit like a saw blade on my Cricut - Artbooking cartridge and cut out 2 layering them. Punched out a 3/4" black circle, punched the largest hole with my eyelet setter and used a Silver Metallic Sharpie to edge the center of the blade. Wrote NFLD (Newfoundland) and the date 8-11-2011 around the blade.

Here is Wendy's original page:

SO Jump over and check out the other lifts and get yours posted! I would love to see what you can create even if you do something after the January ends!!! Let me know in the comments, so I can see!!!

Retreat: Moving on after a cruise...Easter, Beach & Randoms

Our Yummiest stop...so good I never stopped to get a picture of those tasty rum cakes. So I used one from the brochure. Here is Page 1:

Page 2: I think it still needs something. I added the tickets from an ice show we went to that night as we started our journey of a day at sea and back to Florida.

The complete layout - looking at it together I think I will add some navy and some journaling to page 2.

So, after the cruise layouts were completed as best I could with what I had with me. It was time to get some random layouts done that have been planning to do.

Here is a Easter page - the stamp I colored in with marker and fussy cut. added the basket and fussy cut the eggs placed them on top of the image.

My daughter and her 2nd cousin with the Easter bunny. Used CTMH Framework & Keepsake Alpha Stamp Sets. EK Success/Martha Stewart Border Punch & Heidi Swapp Dial Date Stamp.

Next was a 2 page layout that I kept playing with but never just got the tape gun out and made it officially finished! Here are the stamped trees and fussy cut birds.

Matted and finally put those pictures in position! Page 1 - Grandma and my daughter making the peanut butter treat to "Feed the Birds". I kept thinking of Mary Poppins and the bird lady so I just went with it!

Page 2 - A bit hard to see here but as soon as they pulled the cage out the birds came flocking.

The complete layout

Next up was a trip to the beach page featuring my husband and the kids. LBI - Long Beach Island, NJ

I want to use Mudd Puddles on the title - which is a sand like texture. I used it on a page in the past.

Two pages together

One in the works...I liked how this photo worked with the papers. Have to confirm the date/event to finish and title.

I scrapped the pics but wasn't sure of the details. So, now that I am home I got him to fill me in. My husband when he was Ironworking in Boston before we met!

I made the steel beams by scoring the cardstock and adding some pastels to the centers.
