Sailing Away Again

It is only 5 days shy of hitting the month mark since my last post! Well, it has been about that long since I have been in my scrap room too!

Here is the last thing I worked on! I made this framed piece with my Aunt and Uncle in mind. They had some damage to their sailboat during Hurricane Sandy. Thankfully all was repairable! Ever since I seen the papers I used and heard about my Uncle working on the sailboat. I knew I wanted to create something while he was getting ready to set sail, again!

I used Close To My Heart - Tommy Workshop on the Go, CTMH Inks - Cranberry, Honey, Outdoor Denim and Desert Sand, Tommy Assortment, Tommy Complements, Outdoor Denim Chevron Ribbon, Outdoor Denim Embossing Powder, Cranberry Twine, White Daisy Pigment Ink and some unknown named cranberry-like embossing powder.

Here is the Tag I created using the instructions from the Workshop on the Go. Only I stamped image 3 (saying) with Versamark watermark stamp pad added Outdoor Denim Embossing Powder on and setting it with the heat gun! Added the Cranberry Twine to the top instead of ribbon.

Using the unknown cranberry-like color embossing powder and the Tommy Workshop on the Go Stamp image 2 (flag banner). I used the same idea as the Workshop instructions BUT heat embossed the image across the top of the page. Used the Outdoor Denim Chevron Ribbon across the middle and secured the matching Assortment flags. I created an additional flag of my own using a toothpick and one of the Tommy Complements Stickers.

Using the White Daisy Pigment ink I stamped the Sailboat and after it dried outlined the mast and top rail of the boat with Silver gel pen.

Taking a cue from the Workshop on the Go Instructions. I cut out the squares using Tommy Papers and my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge making my <Square5> smaller to suit my layout (1 1/2"). Edge Distressed and Inked them up. Placed the Tommy Assortment pieces and Complements Stickers.

Here is the completed page attached to the backing of the framed shadowbox. Edge Distressing all around the sides. Used the top paper accent strip from the Tommy papers just below the Outdoor Denim Chevron Ribbon.

Liftateers, Year 4 - Week #27

Finally finished this layout after starting it 6 months ago.
I had to pack it away...I just couldn't get it right and be happy about it!

After looking back on the Liftateers, weeks that I had missed. I found Week #27 to get me going.
Terri #54 Had used a large snowflake shape behind her matted photo. That's all I need to get inspired!

I used the cake from Sweetheart cartridge.

The number 6 and saying "Birthday Girl" from the CTMH Artise cartridge.

I had matted the photos in the yellow cardstock, 6 months back...funny how it was 6 months ago and her 6th birthday.

Heat embossed the number 6 and the edge of the cake plate & stand with pink glitter.

Here is the whole layout:

Sometimes not getting the chance to get in your Craft Room is a good thing!

Well yesterday I posted that I needed to get in my craft room...

I got the chance to make a quick card yesterday afternoon. It ended up being a Christmas card all because I found a cute stamp I had! I still need to add the sentiment but it is finished otherwise.

I was hoping to get to a few other cards I started but never finished for Fiskateers - Card Lifters.

SO, today I had to get a birthday card made for a gathering this afternoon.

I am in love with this card...I think nature themed card are so fun to do!
I find that these cards are where my layering and creativity come out the most!

READY to SEE what I did? OK, in a minute...

I use my old cell phone as my MP3 player for music in my craft room.
While I was building the card I took pictures with that old phone as I went. That way you can see the layers and steps.

I will be posting the steps later in another post. Since I got a party to get to!!!!

HERE YOU GO! A LITTLE TASTE OF NEWFOUNDLAND!

My Back To School Page is up over on XOXO Scrapbooking!

SO, the night before school my husband was singing the Staples TV commercial tune..."It's the most wonderful time of the year!"  I have to admit I was looking forward to school starting too!
We only have one in school right now and she is only in 1st Grade this year!

My daughter was super excited picking out her School Gear but not so much for 1st Grade!

Check out what the rest of the XOXO Design Team has created for Back-To-School.

Now on to my page....

Using the Close To My Heart Artiste Cricut cartridge I cut out the post and sign for my title. Embossed the edges of the sign and my title. For the post I traced the edge in a hot pink gel pen to add dimension to the page.

Using Studio Calico Yearbook paper I border punched the edge with Notebook punch and ink distressed using Bamboo ink from Close To My Heart. Doodled here and there and added my journaling.

Here is the completed page I created using those tags for her School gear.

Liftateers Year 4, Week #20 & #22

Week #20
My daughter out in the snow spreading her Reindeer food.
Making sure it was in a spot when there was fresh snow. She wanted to make sure she would see the reindeers prints in the morning.
By then she had forgotten once she saw what was under the tree.

BUT I told my husband you got some work to do later just in case. So, out with a broomstick he went trying to reach the spot without making tracks himself.

All the above written on the swirls.

Week #22
