Keys to the Past - XOXO Scrapbooking DT

This month we lifted from Heather's page over at XOXO Scrapbooking.

I have had a picture (of my Grandmother and her sister sitting in front of the house they grew up in) tucked in with this Close To My Heart "Bliss" Paper Pack for awhile now! I loved how these papers worked so well with the picture and were perfect for this lift. Here is the collection of goodies I used.

The photo had tape on the edges. I got the photo enlarged and adjusted the color a bit. You can still see the tape on the photo after the enlargement.

My Grandmother's writing is on the back of the photo in pencil. So, this was something I really wanted to add to the page. Made a copy of my Grandmother's writing on a tan cardstock.

After cutting the writing down to size, edge distressing and ink distressing a bit. I added it on as my journaling.  I placed a little journaling spot sideways so I can add either the date, which I am researching or the street address for the house that my Grandmother grew up in.

From the lift I used the cluster in the left corner below the photo and placed my journaling and title similar.

The Final Page - Love it!

A Bunch of Celebrations today!

Canada was Going for the GOLD in Men's Hockey in the Winter Games! We had Power Skating in the morning! Which I thought was pretty cool that the kid's were on the ice as the Canadian team was play for GOLD! After we had a Birthday Party to attend! My daughter's Birthday to celebrate!

So, I had already made my daughter's card awhile back as the Fiskafriends - Card Lift #1.

Here is the card I made for today's birthday party. Which by the way was Jake and the Neverland Pirates Themed. Pretty cool since Canada was working for the GOLD too!

Made a plank, but hoping no one would be made to walk the plank! The paper I used was a bit thin for the embossing not to break around the frame I made. So, by adding another piece and running it through helped. Also, didn't know until I watched a YouTube video that cardstock/paper has a grain. That is how you get the whitecore to show depending on the direction you place your paper through the machine. If I can find the link I will add it in here!

So, I had fun with the play on Canada's GOLD/Pirate GOLD/Movie GOLD! Loved that I had a parrot on this image too since Rio 2 is coming out!

Fiskafriends LO Lift #1

The Fiskateers Liftateers have found a new home over on the Facebook Fiskafriends page.

So, here is my page for the 1st Layout Lift!

Got to use a bunch of things from my stash. This black glitter paper that I cut out 31st layered on top of the pre-printed chipboard piece.

Using some more of those pre-printed chipboard pieces and stickers.

Came out pretty good for a picture of a Fairy and Race Car Driver. Still gathering up the list of games and activities that they had at the event.

Two Cards for my little Minions

I created two cards for Valentine's Day for my little minions after finding a card posted on Pinterest.

One for my daughter and the other for my son.

For my son's I added dimension using the diamond plate embossing and layering an oval under the circles for the eye.
I inked up his face to suit my son. He usually has a bit of something on him. Below his sentiment inside just need to add Happy Valentine's Day to it, which I forgot. Dad took the kids out for a bit so I didn't want to get caught!

For my daughter's I used a heart like the pinterest card had but tilted it to the side and used a purple embossed shimmer cardstock. Purple is my daughter's favorite color. Added some shimmering lips since she will put some lipstick here and there from a stash I rarely wear.
Her sentiment to suit her just need to add Happy Valentine's Day to it, which I forgot.!
